If you’re running an ROQ or any of the other big-name printing setups, you know the drill. Finding replacement lamps that actually fit—and don’t blow out in a week—can be a total pain. We built our infrared lamps to be simple drop-in replacements. But we didn’t just make a “generic” bulb and hope for the best. That’s a recipe for disaster. Instead, we spent the time matching the exact electrical needs and heat output your specific machine expects. Getting the fit right Here’s the thing: if the voltage is off, your lamps will either burn out way too fast or just won’t get hot enough to cure the ink. It’s frustrating. We also obsess over the length of the tubes. If a lamp is off by even a couple of millimeters, it won’t sit right in the reflector. You’ll end up with weird hot spots or, worse, you’ll put too much pressure on the glass and crack it. We keep the tolerances tight so they just… slide in. The tech side of things We use high-purity quartz glass because these things go through a lot of thermal shock. They heat up and cool down fast, and cheap glass can’t handle that. For the connectors, we stick with the industry standards like R7s and SK15. Why? Because they stay put. The last thing you need is a connector vibrating loose while the machine is humming along. You’ve got two choices here: clear or coated. The coated lamps are great if you’re dealing with thick ink deposits because they push the heat deeper into the fabric. Just keep in mind they don’t usually last as long as the clear ones. A few things to watch out for The good news is you can wire these straight into your existing ballast. No need to go hacking away at your circuitry. But a quick heads-up: if you put a higher-wattage lamp into an older dryer frame, you’re adding a lot more heat to the chassis. Just make sure your ventilation can keep up. You don’t want to accidentally warp your conveyor belt or fry some nearby electronics because the air got too hot. We focused on high thermal density to help you cut down your curing time. It makes the shop move faster, though it does put a bit more stress on your power supply. Just something to keep an eye on.
