Let’s Talk About Your Packaging Heater Lamps

If you’re running a flexible packaging line, you know the curing and drying stage is where the magic happens—or where things go sideways. Most of us have been taught to stick with the big-name OEM lamps because we think those brands have some secret physics trick up their sleeve.
Truth is? They don’t.
At the end of the day, a heater lamp is just three things: the grade of the tungsten filament, how pure the quartz is, and the gas inside. That’s it. Everything else is just a logo on a box.
Getting the fit right
We build our lamps to match your specific wattage and voltage. Whether your plant runs on 230V or 400V, it’s not about preference—it’s about your electrical footprint. We use higher voltage to push more heat through the tube without overloading your wiring and risking a burnout.
And we’re obsessive about the size. If a tube is off by even 2mm, it’s a nightmare to get into those R7s or Sk15 sockets. We make sure the fit is snug. Why? Because a loose connection causes arcing, and arcing kills your lamp ends. Fast.
The science (without the textbook)
We use high-purity quartz so your lamps don’t cloud up prematurely. We also rely on a halogen cycle, which basically just pushes evaporated tungsten back onto the filament. It keeps the lamp alive longer.
Depending on what you’re running, you might need a specific coating to tweak the heat spectrum. This is the part that actually matters for your product. It lets the heat soak into the ink to dry it quickly, but stops just short of melting your plastic film. It’s a delicate balance.
One thing to watch out for
High-wattage tubes put out a massive amount of heat. It’s powerful stuff.
But here’s the catch: your cooling fans have to be up to the task. If your airflow is weak, that heat doesn’t go into the product—it soaks back into the housing and warps your reflectors.
We provide the same raw thermal punch as the OEM brands. Just make sure your ventilation can handle the heat.
